Dear Elton John, go to Johannesburg with a new song for all the children in the world. We are all children and we need all together a New World. I ask you kindly to write a song and sing this song with colleague singers as many as possible. Make a John Lennon revival.

The world is running into an individual madness. Visite the website www.sdnl.nl and New Rain Forest, My idee for a better world. It is in Dutch

Best regards,

Paul Quekel

Grotestraat 413 5142 CB Waalwijk The Netherlands

0031 416 563055.

This is my idee for a new song, perhaps you can use it:

We are the children, the children from children We are born in love from all the children

We are the New World for peace and love, together

Never forget our creation based on peace and love

Lofty between people and people

Between people and animals

Between animals and animals

Connected by the love of the world, all together

We are the children, the children from children

We are born in love from all the children

We are the New World for peace and love, together

Remember the air, the plants and water

Born in the World of our existence

Forget the war, forget the sorrow

Stop the egoism inside yourself

Find the new way of love all together

We are the children, the children from children

We are born in love from all the children

We are the New World for peace and love, together

Stop the illness and starving for all the children

Give them hope and future for a better live

Be the true leader for all the people

Give new happiness for all the living creatures

Give them breath of live, with a new life spring all together

We are the children, the children from children

We are born in love from all the children

We are the New World for peace and love, together

Rebuilt a new way of live for the world

Because we have the love, all the love for life

Our life for all the children for a better world

The destination of the world is our responsibility

Give love and peace to the children, all together

We are the children, the children from children

We are born in love from all the children

We are the New World for peace and love, together

Make our lives valuable for health and beauty

Change for the better world is still a great possibility

Give our world a new virginity off love and peace

Demanded to the world Leaders by the children

Let born the new love in our peaceful world, all together.

We are the children, the children from children

We are born in love from all the children

We are the New World for peace and love, together

World Summit on Sustainable Development

Greenpeace to Bush: Go to Johannesburg

Earth Summit

Just months before he lost his re-election bid to Bill Clinton, George Bush Sr. reluctantly attended the first Earth Summit, the 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED), in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This historical meeting was attended by 172 nations and 108 government leaders.

The landmark agreements that resulted from the meeting include:

Agenda 21 the Rio Declaration on Environment and Development, the Statement of Forest Principles, and the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity.

Ten years later, President George W. Bush is faced with the moral challenge of the 2002 UN World Summit on Sustainable Development (WSSD) this August in Johannesburg, South Africa. This conference will focus on setting the course for the 21st century to solve the plight of the world's poor. Some 60,000 people are expected to attend the meetings and parallel conferences. In order to truly address the world's global environmental and development problems, it is imperative for George W. Bush to attend this meeting, and show the international community that the U.S. is ready to participated in cleaning up the planet.

About 1/3 of the world's human population lives without access to modern energy sources, like electricity. As access to energy grows, force governments to ensure that energy developers choose clean energy development and stop forcing dirty power on the people and our environment!

The Johannesburg Earth Summit presents a chance for the Bush Administration to use the power of the United States to achieve real progress, tackle poverty and gain real security for the planet. But it will not be progress if all it achieves is opening doors for U.S. corporate enterprise around the world. Progress and lasting security will only be achieved by helping developing countries leapfrog our dirty polluting path of development and start fresh with renewable energy, clean transportation, sustainable forest conservation policies and clean production technologies in manufacturing and agriculture.

In the end, the relationship between the Bush Administration and corporate America may be too strong to allow room for progressive development policy. If that is the case, the U.S. must not be allowed to obstruct governments of the world as they lay out a vision of a secure future with clean development. Bush must go to Johannesburg and join world leaders in concrete commitments to tackle poverty. It will be a national disgrace not to attend this historic meeting. The United States, the most powerful and consumptive economy on the planet must lead the world to solutions.

Ten Years After Rio The embarrassing fact is that ten years after the Rio Earth Summit, we have done little to solve the unfolding environmental catastrophe that stands to undo both the planet's natural systems and human societies around the world, especially in the less advantaged, so-called developing world.

The problems identified in Rio, and the solutions to those problems are ever more pressing. Global warming (climate change) and the need for a clean energy revolution were central to the agreements of Rio. Unfortunately, efforts to solve global warming and the restructuring of the world's energy economy are slow. The necessary and urgent move away from damaging, polluting fossil fuels and toward renewable clean energy technology like wind and solar power is blocked by the massive corporate base of big oil, big coal and power corporations. Corporations like ExxonMobil and others have worked for the last ten years to block governmental solutions to global warming. Meanwhile large multinational corporations, international financial institutions and ill-placed foreign aid continue to spread dirty power development in poor countries and start these nations down the wrong road.

Mapping out the Road from Rio to Johannesburg

World leaders still can use the chance to make the Earth Summit in Johannesburg a milestone to start the clean energy era, making the right choice for the world. Background documents detailing the proceedings of the preliminary rounds of the 2002 Earth Summit show that many governments have acknowledged the importance environmental threats, including global warming and have taken seriously the challenge of energy development in the developing world. However, they have yet to make environmental solutions central to the August meeting.

The Greenpeace ship the MV Esparanza will be in South Africa during the summit helping to focus world attention on the important decisions being made there. The ship's work is just part of Greenpeace's Countdown to Johannesburg, which will involve activities across the globe. Greenpeace is campaigning for governments to take the lead in global sustainability, and stop abdicating their responsibilities to corporations for protection of the planet.

A Call to Action!

Greenpeace is calling on governments around the world to commit to:

Ensuring access to sustainable, renewable sources of energy to the two billion of the world's poorest people who do not now have access to modern energy services; and Rapidly accelerating the development and use of renewable energy technologies in the developed world. Renewable energy can meet our energy needs, while also improving national and global security, enabling countries to develop in a sustainable manner, and reducing the threat of global warming.

Facts about renewable energy

The United States could satisfy all of its energy needs with solar plants on land 100 miles square in Nevada: Wind energy is the fastest growing energy source in the world and is now cost-competitive with conventional energy in good wind sites. Denmark now generates 18 percent of its electricity with the wind; The United States has more solar, wind, biomass and geothermal energy potential than most other countries in the world. Follow Greenpeace's worldwide sustainable energy development campaign by visiting our "Stop the War on the Planet" website.

If you don't believe the US can viably invest in sustainable energy, you're wrong! Find out more about how California is choosing positive energy by visiting Greenpeace's Clean Energy Now! campaign's website!

{ DO ONE GOOD DEED AND LORD JESUS WILL REMEMBER IT AND FULFILL YOUR WISHES TOO} ELTON ,SAVE OUR CHILD PLEASE

We are the unfortunate middle class parents of our first and only child who was born with a congenital Heart disease on December 6th 2000 at 12.12 pm .within four hours of his birth the baby started turning blue and a heart checkup was advised at Escorts heart institute and research center okhla road NEW DELHI 1100025 INDIA ph 91-011-6825000 & 91-011-6825001 . website address www.ehirc.com He was diagnosed by Dr Radha Krishnan and advised a costly BLALOCK-TAUSSIG SHUNT OPERATION FOR CRISSCROSS HEART.IT IS AN ARTIFICAL CONNECTION BETWEEN THE SUBCLAVIAN ARTERY AND PULMONARY ARTERY. THIS SHUNT PROVIDES THE MAIN BLOOD SUPPLY TO THE LUNGS In simple terms his arteries carrying pure blood and impure blood were joint therefore his blood was getting impure and less oxygen supply to his body was making him bluer by the day . Though we didn’t have enough money we borrowed money from friends and relatives and finally the BT shunt operation was performed by Dr K.S IYER and MRS PARVATI IYER .but after the operation the child was on the ventilator for 46 days as his kidneys stopped working then the lungs collapsed doctors said that there was no hope and as the expenses were mounting {around 9500 US dollars }we were given a choice of pulling the plug or turning to god . A few good christian nurses told us about turning to Lord Jesus and though we are from different religion {Hindu} we contacted Father Dhinakaran email address dgs@prayertoweronline.org website http://www.prayertoweronline.org/ and he promised to pray for the child and by Lord Jesus’ Blessing and grace in 24 hours the child came back from his ordeal and we could take him home after 10 days. Even doctors said IT WAS A MIRACLE as according to them once lungs collapse there is no prediction when they will revive and if the kidneys stop functioning even then the end is near . According to doctors the child needs to go through 2 more corrective heart surgeries first in the next 6 months for another shunt operation to put in a bigger shunt to increase the pure blood quantity and then a major and critical open heart surgery, The total cost of both the surgeries would be around 25,000 dollars to 30,000 dollars which is way beyond our reach as we are hard pressed to pay the previous loans we took for the shunt operation. We are attaching complete summary of our Childs disease prepared by the doctors as well as his pictures old and new on this link http://www.geocities.com/anupamakalra/Save_our_child.html We would be the most grateful parents if you can do anything to help us overcome this difficult times . we've attached all the relevant documents, addresses and ph numbers for you to recheck & to prove that our case is a genuine one. If you or anyone you know wants to make a contribution no matter how small {50 Dollars ,100 dollars} to save our kid then they are most welcome to do so . so pl forward this mail to the relevant donors. Hi,

I want to let you know how much I enjoyed your performance with Eminem at the Grammy Awards this week. I was on the phone with a work assocaite at the time of the song, and we both sat there pretty much stunned ("ooohh"... "ahhh"... "ohhhh"...), just loveing the performance... I end up crying... what a night.

I hear that many people protested this performance, and objected to your part in it. I am so glad you didn't let any one stop you. I have enjoy Eminem's music since his first song that I heared. I apprecaite his messages that some times get overlooked in the midst of the controversy, I think.

Any way... thank you so much for the performance. I will cherish that memory for many years to come. Well, if I live many years to come -- I hope I do, God willing.

I am 31 now, survivor of a ruptured brain aneurysm last year (still recovering). I am a fan of yours for the past 20+ years. My favorite song is "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road." My mother all ways loves your music too, especialy song "Funeral for a Friend."

Thank you for being you.

Sincerely, Swann (my nick name) :) GaKidJr@juno.com fan from Georgia in the U.S.

Dear John

I am trying to raise funds for treatment for my brother who is 24 years old and has been diagnosed with having Multiple Sclerosis

I am not sure whether you know much about MS, but it a debilitating disease which doesn't currently have a total cure. There is only BETA-INTERFERON available which costs £10,000 a year. The government has currently refused to make the treatment available on the NHS.

It is very frustrating to watch my brother (who was very sporty up until 2 years ago) even struggle to walk nowdays. He is having problems with simple everyday things like doing up buttons, holding knife & fork or a pen. He is a Trainee Solicitor and has worked hard to get the qualifications and is trying to get his career off the ground but struggling because he keeps suffering relapses which keep leaving him disabled for weeks on end. The only hope he has is to get the medication to try and reduce the relapses and try and improve the quality of his life .

Any help will be very much appreciated.

Thanks

Dear Sir (Elton) John, I have always been your loyal fan (from Singapore). I love listening to your songs of the 1970s especially which I think are real classics. songs sich as Candle in the wind to name just one of many excellent 1970s songs you wrote. Also the not so often played Texan Love Song too.

But nowadays I feel you are not playing your songs at concerts according to what we hear originally in your albums. For example, you shout a lot and pitch your voice so high in your concert when you sang 'Daniel', 'Rocket Man' or 'I Guess that is why they call it the blues'. Your playing of these and other songs are not the same as the original ones in your albums. If they are not sang according to the album, then I am afraid I am not used to it and I think you can do with less shouting and high-voice pitching in your concerts for such high voice and 'shouting' during singing are cacophonous to the ear. It just jars the ear of the audience a lot. You can do away with such jarring. You have beautiful songs. But your voice-raising is spoiling your beautiful songs. Even in the Big Picture album, you shout a lot. I am not used tro them.

Please do something about it. Thank you.

I saw you in NY around 1993 (when Eric Clapton showed up and you both played "Rocket Man") I rate that concert in the top 3 and at age 43 I can say I've been to a couple of couple of concerts. NOT ONE played as long and with as much heart as you though!!!

Hello, my name is John Lightsey. I live in Dalton,GA. I hope this email finds you doing well.

I have always been interested in songwriting, but never asserted myself in that direction. I don't know how to explain this, but I have always had the knack of making up lyrics and singing them out of the blue. I don't know why. I'll just cut to the chase. If I write you a song would you let me know what you honestly think. That's all I want, nothing more.

Dear Elton,

My wife, Colette, was born and grew up in Liverpool and she suggested that I contact you. I have a song, the words of which you can see below, which I think might of interest to yourself & the 2000 Olympics. The song is about the essence of life and sports, and all feelings that come with it, including never giving up, as a state of mind. The song's lyrics were originally written as part of a poem for the Olympics. I had intended to submit the poem to the Olympics Committee . Recently, singer/songwriter Fe Azores took interest in the poem and revised it into musical form and created the music for it. Fe's rendition of this song can be heard at:

www.mp3.com/feazores

The Feeling of The Flame

I. His Hand in time, a path has drawn The runner's quest must find; It knows no bounds, it claims no land Save but a state of mind.

Refrain The spark of life it seeks A special lofty game; When finally found, it gently lights The Feeling of the Flame!

Chorus Tho' days with wings flee swiftly by, Months turn to years And mem'ries fill the cup.

II. The spirit dwells in hearts of all With voice that yearns for rings of gold; Deny it not or harm be served The seeker's will has aim.

Repeat Refrain, Repeat Chorus

Bridge Let's join the race Let's take the chance Lest moving finger blame Your timid heart that surely lost The Feeling of the Flame!

Repeat Refrain

The Feeling of the Flame! The Feeling of the Flame! No one can ever dim the Feeling of the Flame! When finally found it gently lights The Feeling of the Flame! The Feeling of the Flame!

Elton, would you be interested in using your own unique style in presenting this song to Australia & the world for the 2000 Olympics? We would be honored if you would. If so, please contact me at packydav@aol.com.

Sincerely, Dave La Belle

Dear Sir Elton john: I am a foreign student in USA, I am studying at Drexel University, Philadelphia in a MS program in computer science. I am very embarrassed to writing you for seeking a help, but I have no other way to provide my educational costs. Yes, I know that a foreign student is expected to pay his all expenses by his own. But at present my financial condition is not as good as it was expected, tremendous inflation make my foreign exchange inadequate for fulfilling my all needs in US. I applied for an institutional aid (no govt. scholarship for foreign students though) and I thought I would get one. I thought my money, aid and on campus job would be the sources of fund of my education in USA. But it did not work out that way. I did not get any fund from school and did not get any on campus job. My own money is not sufficient for a quarter even.

I am in real hardship. I can't look for a job, that is illegal with my current status. Please..please either help me finding a H1 visa provider to change my status or help me to get some money as a loan, you have to be a co-signer to get this loan. I am not misquoting, I am truly an honest man and I am telling you I will pay the loan back when I become established.

I have a plan to create funds for foreign students who are suffering like me. I am also requesting you to donate some and tell others to donate. I am not telling you to give me all or most of your money. Rather I am telling you to donate me from the savings of your daily expenditure. Suppose for today if you smoke or drink less than your usual, you can save money and can donate your savings. Remember, both smoking and drinking are addictive and injurious to health. If you go to a restaurant, take at least one item less than your usual, then you can donate me the value of that food. You know what...in USA, in a single lunch or dinner, only one single person on average wastes what amount of food, in my country a full family can live on that easily for a whole day. So, don't waste...take some blessing from these poor students.

I hope to get your help because this money is for my education. I don't do drugs, don't smoke and drink and I do not go out with friends as I can't afford that.

I really appreciate and thankful for your kind consideration.

Mohammad Arif Iftekhar (aiftekhar@hotmail.om)

Dear Elton;

I'm 41 and a simple, uncomplicated man. Since I was about 15, I've thought the world of you. As a gay man, I look back on my own history, especially where you are concerend; I'm so proud of who you are as a human being and as a gay man. You 'do us all proud'. You've given us all a man of integrity and profound humanity to look up to. Young gay folk do not have many like you.

Over the years, even since what I consider to be your low point with 'Caribou' and 'The Bitch is Back', you've been my one and only hero.

With the deaths of your friends Giani Versace and Diana Spencer, I saw you as a human being of giant proportions and my pride in you has done nothing but increase.

In a BBC interview I heard here in the states on NPR, I heard a BBC reporter ask Diana "Who appointed you abasador of peace to the world?" After a long period of radio silence during which time my potter's wheel stopped, she answered: "If it's for a minute or an hour or a day, I can love.. and I'm happy to do that. I honor those words of hers.

I am single, a full time dad of a 15 yr old son who also loves your music. As a kid, there was always a picture of you near me. It wasn't your face; it was your presence. I only got to see you preform once.. in Pittsburgh's Civic Arena in about 1974. I was so far away from the stage that I couldn't see anything but it was a teenage high point for me.

I am an artist by trade; some of my work (and a self pic) can be seen here: <http://www.cobweb.net/~quail/vknits.htm>

As a teen, I'd have given anything to know that there was another gay man in the world. I thought I was so alone. Hearing you talk over the years about your own history and coming out process has been nothing but consolation to me. When you sang at Diana Spencer's funeral, I wept in front of my son for the first time. He was 13 then. I felt no shame.

I'm so proud to have loved you and your music for these past 27 or 28 years. I'd give a lot of what I have to be able to spend some time with you.. and I don't mean that in the sexual sense but in the human sense. You will always be a hero for me. I've never had any other. I think the world of you. When I hear about you an the telly, I think; "this is a man I'd like to be more like." I wish you the best, man. I wish for you continuing inner peace.

When I die, I want for someone to play 'funeral for a friend'. It has brought me to tears as recently as this year and when Diana Spencer died, I felt it as though she were known to me. When you were knighted, golly; I couldn't have been prouder if it were my best friend. Were I ever given a week with anyone who's ever lived, I'd pick to spend it with my grandpa and with you. If I could meet anyone I'd not met and spend some time with him, that someone would be you, too. 11/17(/70) is a day of private celebration for me.

Warmly,

Dave <mailto:quail@cobweb.net> (who'd love nothing more than to find a way for my own creativity to mesh with yours someday.)
